THE CANADIAN MEN\'S WINTER GIFT GUIDE

Shopping for men can be tough, especially at Christmas time. If the guy you’re shopping for is anything like me, he either has everything he wants or he has no idea what he wants. Not helpful when you’re trying to get him that perfect winter gift.

To make things easier, this year we’ve teamed up with Sporting Life Canada to come up with a few awesome men’s winter gift ideas! (no affiliate links here, just products we love and can happily recommend!)

Top 3 Winter Hats:

If money’s no object, you’ve gotta go for something super Canadian like this amazing Unisex Canada Goose Aviator hat ($395), and if you’re looking for something cheaper, both Herschel and Fjallraven have some beautiful beanies right now.

Gloves:

Wintersports:

I actually use the Burton gloves all the time and can definitely recommend them. They come with an outer and inner set of gloves, and the fingers work on phone screens (note: the fingers are enormous so don’t expect to do anything remotely useful with them 🙂 ).

For the Fashionistas:

Originally designed for people working in the Arctic, Canada Goose (men’s Northern Liner) has become a must own style brand this winter!

Top of the Line:

Finally, Anyone that’s serious about cold weather and getting the best that money can buy is going to be looking at these Arc’teryx gloves. Designed for extreme backcountry conditions, they’re the perfect winter gift .

Winter Jackets & Coats:

Ok, this section’s going to seriously break the bank. Feel free to skip ahead if you love them, but you don’t love them that much!

Winter Fashion

Got cash to burn? I guess this comes from growing up in Europe, but I’ve always loved Moncler winter jackets. For Men, we’re really loving the Moncler Men’s Mouthe Jacket.

All purpose Winter Coats:

If you’re looking for something that’s a bit more function and a little more understated, a good parka is a fantastic Christmas gift. For men, the Canada Goose Emory Parka is a pretty good option; loads of insulation for those freezing days, and a removable fur lining if you want to make it even more subtle.

Skiing/Snowboarding:

Christmas time in the Rockies is all about getting out into the mountains, so skiing/snowboarding gear should be right at the top of your list!

If you’re a skier, you can’t go wrong with a Helly Hansen jacket, and the Men’s Nordal jacket is definitely one of our favourites this season, especially with its double zipper/faceguard feature

Winter Accessories:

If some of these presents are getting a little expensive, why not grab your loved one a useful ski accessory; like these goggles, or some in-helmet headphones like these ones from Giro. Finding some headphones that work under a helmet was a gamechanger for me, and now I never go anywhere without my tunes!

PLAID:

Holiday winter gifts don’t have to be serious or expensive, and what could be better than good old plaid. Canadians love plaid and it certainly wouldn’t be winter without some in the stocking. Here are some of our favourite pieces. You can get the traditional plaid shirt, a plaid hat, and even some plaid PJ’s:
